Rockabye Pirate

We often read this as our last book on the bedtime pile and I love it when I look over and see my little man has fallen asleep by the last line: “And rockabye pirate has fallen asleep”.

The gentle rhymes are just right for calming down, as the pirates in the story are taken through their bedtime routine, which looks pretty much like ours. Then they’re ready to dream about pirate parties and finding buried treasure.

The illustrations are whimsical and fun, but soft too. And there’s gold foil on the cover, which sparkles like pirate treasure.

Rockabye Pirate is written by Timothy Knapman, illustrated by Ada Grey, published by Bloomsbury.
