It’s the combination of words and pictures that makes this such a wonderful book.
A short rhyme on each page introduces characters from nursery rhymes and fairy tales, inviting little ones to find them hiding in the corresponding illustration.
There’s Mother Hubbard, Little Bo-Peep, Cinderella, Baby Bunting and more. I’d forgotten some of them, so it was a lovely reminder to teach the original rhymes to my twins. This is a book you can really have fun reading with children. My girls loved searching the pictures and guessing the next part of the rhyme – until they learned the book off by heart and would recite along with me!
Each Peach Pear Plum is an American Library Association Notable Book.
I’d recommend this book for children from birth to about aged five. It’s probably worth pulling out again as they learn to read.
You can buy Each Peach Pear Plum from the Book Depository.
